Storms River backpackers and hostels started with Tube 'n Axe in the late 1990's and we have undergone all of the growing pains to put Tube 'n Axe up among the top hostels in South Africa let alone Garden Route. We are located in the main street of the quaint Storms River Village that forms the epicentre of attractions and activities in Tsitsikamma. Our pledge is to deliver superb services and facilities to travellers and holiday makers and we guarantee to match if not beat any prices offered on accommodation the Tsitsikamma area. We have facilities and staff to accommodate 70 guests at any given time. We also operate the only licensed shuttle service in the Tsitsikamma area that is available to all visitors to Tsitsikamma and Storms river. Our guests receive special in house rates for our shuttling services as well as priority on routes. We employ local staff as a rule and compliment our employment role with some foreign volunteer flair. Our long term volunteers have the option to work helping out with front desk duties as a means of positive first world influence and assistance to our local staff compliment. It is for this reason that our staff have developed their skills from gardening and basic housekeeping to computer, management, tour guiding and building skills. We are committed to a long term plan to develop our business responsibly and sustainably using local people to get the job done.
